Henk De Vries wrote:^Yes that could work but I think the figures could better have a m23 pistol instead of a 1911. As for an helmet: I think something in the line of starwars rebel pilot helmets could work as Tanker helmets but the problem there is the colour. As far as I know those helmets are only available in white. Ofcourse I would like to see a custom helmet from Will but that's realy up to him to deside that.
Henk Actually a M1911 would be much more accurate for the crews, because it is the main sidearm of both the US Army and the US Marines. And the rebel helmet comes in Brown, but it is very hard to find, and they go for 3-5 dollars a pop. That aside, I'm all for this idea, especially because my uncle is a Master Gunnery Sgt. of the US Marines 2nd Tank Battalion. For a fig I'd suggest: - This head or this one -Tan torso with either Chocolate Chip or a Desert Digital Pattern (Desert MARPAT Perhaps?) - Tan arms and legs - This helmet in either Gray/Black a tan Kepi, a Dark Bley/Black Knit Cap, or this hairpiece in whatever color -Brickarms 1911 Pistol

About the pistol: If you say so I agree with you. I just thought a m23 pistol would look more modern then a 1911. About the helmet: It's on the new republic gunship right? Yep that's going to get hard to get. I agree with you're headgear suggestions. About the torso: Sounds great but could you provide a link or something? Good suggestions catkid, how do you like my ww2 suggestions for a tank crew? Henk

^Actually, if you look at my first posted vig, you'll notice that one of my "commandos" has a black helmet, I personally airbrushed it, and could easily airbrush another, in forest camo, or desert camo.
It's time to go! Start packing! Are we all set? Dasvedania old BA forums, and Previet new!

Henk I believe that the helmet was in the B-Wing set from a couple of years ago. I was thinking that the torso would be a decal, but here are some pictures of the camouflage I suggested: Chocolate Chip (aka Six Color Desert) and MARPAT Desert Pattern I thought your WWII Tank Crew suggestions were excellent, by the way.

^Ok thanks, I think the MARPAT Pattern looks best for a modern tank crew. Henk

Tank crews are an interesting concept, in my opinion.
Also, this opens up a wide range of possibilities if this gets produced.
You know, anti-tank crews. Engineers. Bodyguards... Personally, I want to follow this development, and see if the latches of the Floodgate of Ideas are undone...

Just wondering, which set of tank crew minifigs are people wishing to see - modern tank crews, or WWII?

Got to agree with Ranger there. WW2 crews are always so much fun. From the battle hardened Panzer and later British crews, the early, "Charge!" British tank crews, the smug Americans and the Soviets, who just have a system of pullies and pedals, they're all good. Only exception is a Challanger 2 tank crew. Come on. Most powerful tank on the modern battlefield, only one destroyed, and that was from another Challanger 2. :P
The Lee Enfield was the only bolt action rifle NOT to be replaced by a semi automatic rifle as its rate of fire was deemed high enough. Truely, us British do things the hard way.

I'd personally love to see some Soviets, but I think we need some Soviet infantry figs first...

Agreed, Soviets would be nice, and could be useful for those Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crysta Skull fans. ;) But tank crews would be nice, just gotta get a tank for them before you would be able to buy them! Yes a tank crew would be very nice. Especially for people who make their own tanks and need better crews.

I agree. Many a LEGO war has been lost due to inefficient, lazy, and blockheaded tank crews...

Xanacore wrote:I agree. Many a LEGO war has been lost due to inefficient, lazy, and blockheaded tank crews... Heh, I see what you did there. I always liked the Soviet tank crews. It really was like piloting a train apparently, with levers and pedals. As for a tank, well, there is a certain Churchill Tank I keep eyeing up. I might even get two, to convert one into a Black Prince variant. 17 Pounder Cannon + more armour then a Tiger = British Win.
