If I'm correct, the UZI Magazines are just cut off Thompson Magazines.

I don't think so, I think the MP40's are what provides the clips. But in my opinion, it's easier to just carve out a simple rectangle or Ammo clip (Shaped differently if needed) and just mold ammo clips and magazines from it so as to not waste time cutting the clip off.

While I'm not too fond of having a bonus weapon included with the crate explicitly, I'd be quite interested to see variations on the original idea, with the suggested Uzi magazines as a possible starting point.

Having the smaller crate may be good too, to add interest and variety. However, it may be difficult for Will to deal with different crate sizes, but I guess it might work out fine.

That just gives me an idea! How's about different selections of crates to choose from?

Here's what I'm thinking,

One selection may be
1.)-This crate
2.)-A selector (Like the UZI Briefcase color selector) for the customer to choose whether to have the "Bullet Clip" or the Magazine Clip. Number of clips included with crate determined by size and by Will
3.)-One or two Free Random weapons (In Black/white, but black probably)

And another may be
1.)-This crate
2.)-A selector (Like the UZI Briefcase color selector) for the customer to choose whether to have the "Bullet Clip" or the Magazine Clip. Number of clips included with crate determined by size and by Will
3.)-One or two Free Random weapons (In Black/white, but black probably)

And etc. depending on what Will and his family want to use.

I'd go for the second one - It would be more consistent with Will's production Boom Box (which uses the same TLC crate), and I personally like large crates :D

I agree with GL. The second crate would "fit in" better.

However, I would vote for it just being the ammo clips and the crate; I'm not too big a fan of including guns.

I also think the second crate looks better, but I think the ammo might fall out of the crate through those two "holes"

Well I just suggested including a random weapon since it just kind, well, it would have made sense for a minifig to have a gun AND ammo instead of just ammo. But I guess the random weapon already included with your order already covers that.

I don't think it would fall out. If you look at how it's held, it fits in the minifig's hand with some sticking out. For something to fall out those holes, it would have to be hidden in the minifig's hand.

True. I guess I didn't think of the size very well.

I'm still thinking of the Magazine clips used on many modern firearms (Like the angles ones on an M4 Carbine or AK-47) to be included into the pack.

If Will is low on surplus or whatever, then he should use these. But if not he should have like 10 packs in t he bigger crate.

Also, what are the ammo clips made out of? The bendy stuff or ABS?

Yeah I like the idea...although I used my only garand to create a R700 can it come with a rifle (Lee Enfield or M1 Garand)...randomized of course.

Having spare magazines as opposed to the clips I originally suggested may be an interesting vairant, one that I personally might like to see.

However, I'm just wondering whether the mold space for these "spare mags" could be better used for more firearms...in either case, maybe these magazines could be used as mold-fillers i.e. if a mold contains a few large items like sniper rifles, MGs etc (as opposed to many smaller pistols etc.), the mags could be included in the same run. But then again, just my 10 cents*

*New Zealand has abolished the 1, 2 and 5 cent coins.

I like the idea that the Mags can fill in as smaller items that can be used for a variety of weapons, from an UZI, to an M4 Carbine. I'd love to see some spare mags come with a crate of Ammo!

Thread Bump! Ok here goes: Hey guys just to give this thread a bump I still like this idea and I think the smaller TLC box with 2 flat 1x2 brown pieces to close the box. I also think that multiple clips from other weapons could be a great addition.

That's all,

Henk

The smaller crate will give BA a more versitile and more variety in selection of crates. I like the idea.

How about a bunch of clips/magazines (they make a difference) and one or two weapons? Just like how the REAL arms dealer sell their weapons.

That's generally NOT how real arms dealers work. And Will is not a REAL arms dealer, so it's irrelevant anyway. Aside from that, this topic concerns the idea of a crate of 'clips' - the clip being a prototype shown recently. Will has no magazine prototypes, nor any plan at this time to produce such an item, so let's not suggest items be included in a pack when they don't exist.

Wait, but what about the Magazine that is included with the Briefcase UZI? Isn't that a Magazine?

It's not a molded piece, but rather a snippet from an existing item. Easy enough to for Will to do to fill 'briefcase' orders, but certainly not easy enough to do to fill entire crates.

I took a look, and it appears that I can fit 12 bullet clips in the tall (2x2) crate, sealed with a 2x2 tile. If the bullet clips ever go into a production mold, I will seriously consider offering them this way.
