Good question, but the answer is..no. The BrickArms Gunblade prototype has a completely different revolver frame and cylinder, and the BrickArms M1917 prototype is built entirely new, from the ground up.

Was this out before hand? I saw some mini figure that had it somewhere on this forum. Well it's nice to see it..... always a great gun in FF8.

You are probably remembering the CAD rendering I did a while back.
BrickFair 2008 was the first place the Gunblade prototype has been shown.

Love it. I'd definetly try to aim more towards a gun-sword look rather than a more knife-looking variant. I'd be either of them nonetheless.

Nice job on this. Was it inspired by Final Fantasy?

Thats the problem with time travel. When is now? When is then?

It was inspired by a whole host of source material. 'Gunblades' have appeared everywhere, from real history to a thousand works of fantasy and science fiction. While 'Final Fantasy' may be one of the more popular places such items have been seen, it's very far from the only place.

I think that the muzzle should be a little larger, and the whole thing reduced to around the length of a standard Lego cutlass.
