Very, very amazing! I was waiting to see one, and there it is. The CAD drawings were nice, but now I can really see an actual one. Hope they will be available for purchase soon!

WOW! Great job, it has a final fantasy feel to it. I'm not a big fan of it but it is definitely a cool gun. Another great job Will! PEACE!!!

What's awesome about this is that it can double for the Final Fantasy solely-melee weapon as well as a pistol attached with a blade. The latter is used in plenty of genres from Steampunk to Sci-fi. Awesome work, man.
Remember kids, bley and dark grey can look good together so long as you don't mix them up randomly.

This raises an interesting question: what do people prefer more, an item that's more a pistol with a knife attached to it or the more "traditional" gunblade that's more a sword with a pistol-motif in the hilt and grip. Pistol-knife version: Sword version: What version would you all prefer to see as the final production item for the BrickArms gunblade? badger

Badger, i'd rather see the sword version. I say this, mainly because it would be another melee weapon (with that model, the trigger fires a bullet INTO the blade, and makes it vibrate). Oh, and, I LOVE FF8 :)

I actually prefer Will's current prototype, the pistol-knife version. The sword version seems large and rather ugly, but that's just my opinion :)

Yeah I agree that pistol-knife looks quite alot better then the sword. Henk

Man, I'd LOVE this gun, but 2 things i wish to be changed please. I think the actual gun barrel should be more pronounced and the sword a bit skinnier and just a wee bit shorter. Thanks and one more thing, badger, when you said will see mass release, that means that this will be available to buy online right??? (Please make it so!) [MOD - Yes, it does. - badger]

Sweet! My eyes just exploded because of the sheer awesomeness of the gun. I can think of a few things to do with it already. Great job Will! Now if you will excuse me, I have to go to my eye doctor.

Hmmm...pistol, or sword? Could we have some comparisn pictures of the current gunblade next to some official Lego swords? I think the ideal size would be a cutlass size one, with a narrower blade than the current one. That way, it wouldn't look too unwieldly, or too small. Right now, it looks pretty much like Squall's version with a cut down blade, so a narrower blade would get around that problem easily.

After seeing these at Brickfair, and picking one up, I have to say I like it the way it is. Because of the scale of a minifig, You can use your imagination as to whether its a sword or knife.
My wife is not a big fan of Lego (Although I did buy her 2 sets of Bionicle, at her request. Future AFOL?), but she thought the gunblade was the best Brickarm I picked up, and I picked up a few different ones.

I love this really and truley but I can't decide which I would like better...I'm leaning to sword version just beacause I LOVE swords but the gun version is cool too! I kinda doubt it but would it be possible to make two different Gunblades (sword and gun)?

You have me going here again, Will. Another finely-crafted prototype! My NLF* Christine is really into FF8 - I sent her a link to the pics and she approves :) *Non Lego Friend, the counterpart to AFOL

Mm, interesting, I agree that this would be a very cool addition to Steampunk-Style arms. I have to say that I like the first version that Badger talked about, where it's a pistol with a knife attached to it. I like the design, but it turns me off a bit, because of the sheer size of the thing. It's way too big!
