4:30 PM (EST) THURSDAY
After a fun-filled 5-hour flight from Seattle, I have arrived at the Sherton in Tyson's Corner (DC). What a beautiful hotel! They must have goofed up somewhere along the line because they gave me a suite on the 22nd floor, with an unrestricted view as far as the eye can see! Man, I am sure not used to traveling like this. Honestly, the room has huge flat screen TVs in BOTH adjoining rooms.
Anyhoo, Check-in isn't until 6pm, so I've ben wandering around and taking in the incredible amenities.
Here's the coolest thing about the trip so far: I go downstairs to find the BrickFair check-in counter, and there I see a boy about 11 years old putting together event kits (containers with the BrickFair logo) and setting out the event kit cars (gorgeous little roadster kits). Lo and behold, he eyes me fom about 20 feet away, and says: "Who are you?" as though he recognizes me. I say "Will Chapman", and when I get close enough to see him, he says "I'm Michael Moore, and I'm a big fan!". It was then that I noticed he is wearing a black BrickArms T-shirt! How cool is that? Something tells me Michael will be getting the first prototypes handed out at the show. ;)
More to come..

11:59 PM (EST) FRIDAY Wow, what a long day! Obcrew and his parents arrived this afternoon, and promptly went to work organizing the BrickArms display. They are fantastic! It was great to finally meet obx, and see his excellent vigs and figs. The attendees were very supportive BrickArms, and we had an almost nonstop flood of folks stopping by to chat, to purchase their limited edition BrickArms minifigs, and pick out their prototypes. Everyone went away with at least one awesome prototype, and some folks even got to take home a Gunblade and/or SPAS-12. The Brickfair editions of the British Tommy and US Rifleman were hits, and I hope I have enough to last the weekend! More tomorrow.. (Note: The 'Will's Blog' forum will not accept any reply posts. 11:52 PM (EST) SATURDAY
Whoa. What a day! The place was packed to the gills with people! Luckily, I had obxcrew and his awesome family to help out at the tables today, or I would not have been able to talk to everyone in attendance. Obxcew is very fortunate to have such understanding and Lego-enthusiastic parents.
My head is still spinning from meeting all of the great BrickArms fans, and getting to talk to each of you, and seeing your faces light up when obxcrw handed you your free prototypes. Awesome!
The new prototypes went over very well, but the M21 Sniper rifle prototype, which was first debuted at BrickWorld, was the #1 requesed item for BrickArms to produce, followed by the SPAS-12, Gunblade, and Brodie. Of course, the SMLE knocked everyone's socks off, and since the last remaining "The Chief" minifigs sold out by 11:30 this morning, we were flooded with requests for them. I would have had more ready for the show, if they weren't so labor-intensive to produce. :(
On the brighter side, we still have a few weapons packs left, and a lot of individual BrickArms for sale. Of course, we reserved plenty of prototypes for those of you attending tomorrow (Sunday), so even if your favorite minifig is already sold-out, you'll at least go home with a really great (free) BrickArms protoype, and I'll get a chance to meet you!
I love Lego conventions! The best part of the night was having dinner with obxcrew and his parents, as well as Carter Baldwin, and the man himself - Magnus Louglo! It was a mini-seminar in Modern Military MOC coolness! And the burgers were pretty darn good as well. :)
