Inspired by Master_Animators "Murder in an Alley" I give you A Series of Murders. NYC is inspired by Gotham. New York City . . . 2010. The only thing you can count on is the mob. Half the city is "bought and paid for," according to the DA. While a murder by the mob is never anything new, the police still attempt to investigate. These, however, stumped them. Rookie NYPD officer, James Markos was patrolling his beat at 1900 when he failed to check in. A car was sent and they found his body. His back was full of 9mm ammunition. The coroner's report revealead that he had been shot 10 times. However, his intact face showed no sign of shock, pain, or fear. His wallet, sidearm, radio, and badge were still there. He had not been in the force long enough to have mob connections to break, and his superior reported nothing unusual had happened before Markos' departure. He appeared to have been shot to death for absolutely no reason at all. Nothing turned up and the case went cold. However, it was resurrected when Matthew Martins disappeared on the way home from work. Police found him in the same alleyway, a single bullet in the back of his head. Again, valuables were untouched, no mob connections discovered after a lengthy search, and he, too, appeared to have been pointlessly murdered. 3 days later, Jack Harper was running and took a shortcut through an alley. Bystanders heard a burst of gunfire and ran to the alley, 3 of them calling the police. They reached the scene and found Harper lying on the ground, bleeding from numerous large bullet holes. His lungs pierced, he was unable to speak, but appeared to be pointing to the wall behind him. Everyone believed him delirious with the onset of death, and Harper died before the authorities arrived. Harper had moved to NYC two days before, far too short a time to work with the mob. The lightning struck in a new and ominous way 5 months later. Wally Anderson, beloved store owner in NYC was found dead in the same alleyway, with his head almost completely blown off. Police immediately realized he had been shot at point-blank range with a .12 gauge shotgun. However, the blood work and coroner's report revealed something ominous. The cortizol levels in Anderson's blood were very high, indicating he had been under great stress at the moment of death. This, coupled with abrasions on his knees and tearing of his clothes indicated he had been dragged to the alleyway before being shot. His assistant said Anderson had stepped out for some air around closing time and gone around the side of the building to bury some past-date fruit. The assistant left then, and did not hear the shotgun blast that ended Wally Anderson's life. Again, Anderson had no mob connections, and appeared to have been murdered for no reason. But why drag him to the alley. Had he overheard something? Anderson was a personal friend of the DA, and the DA was enraged by his death. When the NYPD approached him for search warrants on the abandoned buildings adjoining the alleyway, he immediately granted them. Researching the previous case files, Detective Walt Ramirez realized that when Harper had been shot, he had pointed to the wall behind him. A brief search showed that the building had last been owned by a man named Pedro Gomez, a known mob hitman. SWAT moved in immediately. . . . but they were disappointed. By the looks of it, the building had not been used for years. Dust covered every surface. However, forensic experts discovered a hidden trapdoor that led to a basement, where they found a concealed door that led to the alleyway outside. The only other thing they found was a Civil-War era musket, shiny and clean as if it had been made yesterday, sitting on the dust-covered floor in the basement . . .

Yay! Someone was actually inspired by my UN-amazingness! Your alleyway is at least 10 times better than mine. So, are you going to make a continuation? The stories are really good. How long did this take you?

Thanks, everyone! Part 2?? I never thought about it. I'm not even sure what the ending is all about. If anyone does have an idea what the ending is, PM me and we'll talk ;) Master_Animator: Thanks. It's the Market Street set, and is really a fun model. I worked for a while on lighting to give it the right "feel." How long did it take me? I did it over two days, mostly working with the figs to make them look just the way I wanted them to. Photography took about 20 minutes; I was trying to get just the right shot. Thanks again, guys!

Interesting, but the story strikes me as somewhat moot without a second part.

obxcrew I agree with you on the "Needs a second part" thing. So Brickfan93, are you gonna make a second part, I'm sure it would be cool. Stop Global Whining.Sgt. Striker: "Oh, I get it, you just clip the blue wire!" Char72: "NO! NOT THE BLUE ONE-" *Building explodes*

Alright, you have all convinced me. I will make a second installment of this, but I make no promises as to when. ;-) If you have any ideas for Part 2 that you would like to share, PM me.

Very nice, the building is great and the stories are even better! I love how each new story gave a little more info on what happened.
