When making a suggestion in these forums for an item you'd like to see from BrickArms in the future, please follow these rules and suggestions:1) Make sure the item is something not already produced by BrickArmsA quick check of the BrickArms website
Weapons and
Accessories pages should be sufficient to be sure the item you're interested in is already produce by BrickArms. It is also worthwhile to take a quick look at the
Tales from the Garage forum to see if the accessory is something Will is currently developing.
If the item is something Will already produces or currently plans to produce, don't start a thread suggesting it . . . because that'd just be silly!
2) Think about the item on the minifig scale compared to existing BrickArms itemsOne of the guiding principles of BrickArms is that each accessory is distinct and eye-catching. Consider how the item you have in mind might look when shrunk down to a scale in proportion to a minifig and compare that shape to existing BrickArms items. As many weapons share common design motifs, once they are taken down to the minifig scale, they are sometimes not distinguishable from one another. Also keep in mind that many details of an item are lost in the abstraction of its design into a the minifig accessory aesthetic. Only substantial differences in design are apparent on the minifig scale, so be prepared to point them out if you're suggesting an item that may be similar to something BrickArms already produces.
3) Find a clear reference image for the itemYou need to include at least one reference image for the item you're suggesting.
Google Image is an excellent resource for finding clear reference images for items. Also popular are
Wikipedia and
World Guns for modern firing items. Once you've found an image you'd like to use, follow
these directions to include it in your suggestion post.
4) Do a search of the forums to make sure someone else hasn't already suggested itThe Search Function of the BrickArms Forums board is the perfect tool to use to make sure a thread doesn't already exist for the item you want to suggest. Be sure the settings are moved to "All Forums" and "50 results per page."
One important thing to keep in mind: many weapons are known by several different common names. You should search the forums using all of the common names used for a weapon.
If a thread already exists for the item you wanted to suggest, post in that thread rather than starting a new thread. This is to keep all the discussion about a particular item centralized and easy to follow.
5) Please suggest only one new item per threadAfter you've followed all of the above directions, if you have several ideas for new items, please start a new thread for each idea. The "one item per thread" limit is designed to keep the discussion within a thread focused and easy to follow. There is, however, no limit on the number of new threads you can start, so if you have a bunch of new ideas you want to share, feel free to share them all.
Please follow these guidelines when making suggestions in these forums. Threads that do no follow these rules will be deleted. We look forward to hearing what you'd like to see from BrickArms in the future!
