With pictures of two different prototypes of the upcoming BrickArms Machete posted and being discussed, I thought it'd be interesting to run a poll to see what version everyone thought made for a more attractive, useful accessory. Here are the two versions: With Lip: And without: Personally, as someone who has tested both versions, the lipped version makes for a much more attractive item in minifig hand. It gives the item a good deal of added character, makes the entire accessory appear more balanced, and is more accurate the vast majority of modern machetes currently produced. But what do you folks think? Note: the results of this poll are for entertainment purposes only and may or may not have any effect on the final design of the BrickArms Machete.badger

I like the lipped version much better than the other, because I think it more proffesional.

I prefer the no lip. The lip makes it look less like a machete, in my opinion. It just makes it look odd... flickr<.<

I think they both look good. But if I had to chose one, I would go with a lip.
My picture is my favorite brickarm that Will has made so far. If I could pick a second, it would be a tie between the M41A Pulse Rifle and the Combat Shotgun. My third choice would be the M23 pistol. I can't wait for, as well as everyone else, brickarms Will and the other moderators have up their sleeves for future weapons and accessories.

Badger gave me a silver lipped version at BrickWorld, and very glad he did because it adds detail to an otherwise plain part of the machete and I think it really completes the design.

I'm possibly going for a lipped version. It just adds a new dimesion of detail into the Mechete. But then again, the Non-lipped version does have some adaptability to most of the TLC pieces. A soldier should not be commemorated for doing what is expected-Master ChiefBungie.net Account Profile

I personally agree that the presence of a lip on the Machete handle gives the weapon more character - somehow, the unlipped version seems to be... incomplete?

I prefer no lip due to how it appears that it might get in the way of posing the Machete... It looks cooler, but I prefer compatability than looks...

I didn't get to vote:( but I like the no lip one better I don't know why but the lip one is still pretty good. P.S. does the lip make it not able to hold one the side with it or can the minifig hold it?

Interesting question. While I have never seen a machete without a lip, whenever you hold a machete, your hand "fills" the handle, making the lip even with your hand. I think that makes it closer resemble the no-lipped version. However, I will vote for the lipped version, so if someone doesn't like it, they can cut or file it off.

The no-lip version is more adaptable, I'd prefer it.

I voted for the lipped version. Even though I liked the no-lip a little more, one word changed my mind: Customization
The lip looks like it can be easily cut off by using an X-Acto knife. The option of a lip would be for the buyer to choose at home. This way both groups will be happy. Just a thought...

I voted for the no lip version. Well, I think it looks better, but that is only my opinion…
