Greetings! The first part of a brickfilm I've been working on for quite a while, based on the game "Half-Life", is finally done and released on the web! My aim with the movie, "Half-Life: The Brick Way", is to retell the story of the game using LEGO bricks, and recreating well-known areas and sequences, with my own ideas for sets and scenes added in the mix. BrickArms is obviously featured, although very briefly (twice) - but I didn't see anything in the rules explaining that BrickArms accessories had to be a substantial element in a brickfilm for it to be posted here, so I guess it's okay? I have it hosted on Youtube and on Vimeo - the latter with better image quality, also featuring stereo sound. I had to split the movie into three segments, so when you're done watching the first, just click the video response to go to the next. Thanks for watching, comments welcome!

Can't say I've ever played the game, but I greatly enjoyed the vid(s). Very well done!

One of the best Brickfilms I've seen, and I'm not just saying that because I love Half-Life. Animation was smooth, decals detailed and nice, and the figures great. Watched Part One [2] aswell. You pressed the button too, eh? :) Anyways, this is the best! Hope to see more movies from you!
You're good Kid, real good, but as long as I'm around you'll always be second best, shee?

Some of you might be wondering why I have't been posting pics. The reason why is because I lost my camra, which is a big bummer.

One of the best BrickFilms I've seen posted here. Here were the high points (for me) 1) The train, and the rapidly passing scenery 2) The apache helicopter. Excellent work. 3) The door opening Brief critique: Perhaps make the dialogue a little louder than the sound effects? By the way, does Gordon Freeman ever talk? I am now watching the rest of your videos. Fabulous work!

Thanks for the compliments everyone! @ ww2 gunner: I started planning the scenes and building various vehicles etc. 2-3 months before filming commenced, and the actual filming / building sets / editing took a total of around 7-8 months. I take it you mean the female voice-over during the tram sequence? I didn´t make it very audible because although I wanted to recreate the tram sequence in detail, I also made the film for the most part for people that have played the game (there are references to in-game scenes, such as the button-pressing, like hobo4ever mentioned), and therefore already know what she is saying. Besides, if I were to include all of the tram-dialogue, the tram sequence would have been substantially longer.

So that's why it is so amazing! It took you almost a year! hobo4ever wrote:Brickfan93 wrote:By the way, does Gordon Freeman ever talk? Never. Never grunts, never yelps, never talks... The rest is gray or invisible.

They protagonists don't talk most of time so that you can think you are the character, right?
