The production version will most likely be different. For Brickworld, I wanted to provide different weapons than the "The Chief", so I opted for a different mix of silver. Will, you have outdone yourself!! The dropship trooper is amazing. I will definately have to get one of these and a Commando when they come out. I needed some silver weapons:D. Oh yea, and I agree with you and BE that a M5 and M6 would go much better. I hope this fig doesn't cost too much as he is all authentic TLC ;)

brickjedi wrote:I hope this fig doesn't cost too much as he is all authentic TLC ;) Well at the convention he costs about $12 (As I can see through the photos) due to the silver. So it would cost a bit more than the usual minifig, but hey! You get some limited edition Silver Weapons! But I just have one question, did you (Will) get the inspiration of a "Dropship Trooper" from a Special Ops Soldier from a Sci-Fi Theme *Cough* *Cough* Halo ODST *Cough* *Cough*? The torso does resemble that trooper's armor. A soldier should not be commemorated for doing what is expected-Master ChiefBungie.net Account Profile

Why yes, I can see it now, the dropping out of the Pelican Dropship, the Special Ops Troopers, it all makes sense. . . . or not all. Still, I really like this minifig. I'll definately buy at least two or three of these guys. A soldier should not be commemorated for doing what is expected-Master ChiefBungie.net Account Profile

Besides, like I've said before, I love the armor decal and helmet, and thought a batch of silver BrickArms weapons would complement him nicely.

Only if LEGO Produced better Sci-Fi torsos for the Mars Mission sets. I just hope LEGO does reintroduce the helmet soon to go with some new Sci-Fi themes. But isn't the torso printed on instead of decaled? And as with all other members, I agree that Silver Weapons make everything more futuristic. It's just something about the shininess about silver that attracts the look of something Sci-Fi. A soldier should not be commemorated for doing what is expected-Master ChiefBungie.net Account Profile

Ballistic Eagles wrote:But isn't yhe torso printed on instead of decaled? B.E., you are correct, and it is an important distinction. I print my own decals for use with some of my custom minifigs, but that torso is indeed a Lego torso, which was printed via pad printer, presumably at the Lego factory.

Well, I was wondering, there was a LEGO contest or something held on the website a while back. I presume it ended, but the prize was a trip to denmark to visit a LEGO Factory. Did you or your family ever did visit a LEGO Factory? Just a question, since the minifig has the rarity of the Light Gray Mining Helmet, and due to the increasing demand for this item, do you think this item will run out of stock oh say, three to four days? Most probably. Since I don't (yet) make my own helmets, I am at the mercy of the economics of supply and demand. I happened to buy a batch of helmets a year ago, and when the last DST (Dropship Trooper) sells out, I will move on to another minifig. I may even shed a tear at the loss of such a fine minifig army. ;)

Yes, it is very sad losing an army that size, but just remember to keep at least tow of these awesome minifigs for display!
