I know you were asking him, but I think I understand; He says you should sell them on Brickarms.com. And he says that since the Needler is so hard to make, you should price The Chief high so that not very many people would buy them, and you wouldn't need to make very many Needlers.
Hey, looking for a cool place to make lots of friends and have loads of fun? Why not try Jango Jordan's forum, Brick Cave?

The Chief is hard to make right? Well, if you sell him at a high price on your web site you don't have to make many. Just like Marke said. P.S. Sorry for confusing you.

But ifhe sells them on ebay, he has more buyers, and allows you to pick the price as it escalates, so essentially he is selling them from the website on ebay. :)

Henk I understand, but if you are selling a limited edition minifigure, why sell them in quantities of three or four, then have to go through all the trouble of taking them off brickarms.com? Umm, sorry.

Guys, I appreciate the enthusiasm, but let's not clutter up the forums with speculation on price and availability, ok? When I have them available, I will sell them in the manner in which I see fit.

Have you read this forum? Will specifically said that he would not sell the Needler on its own, due to the strenuous number of moldings it takes to make it. :)

pigman22 wrote:will the needler be sold if so i need to save my money As of right now, there are no specific plans to offer the BrickArms Needle Gun as a separate accessory. However, as fans have indicated they'd be more than happy with a solid-colored accessory which would not involve complicated over-molding, there is a possibility Will may produce the Needle Gun design in solid purple for purchase on the BA website. Again though, these plans are not definite. If there's an update regarding them, you'll hear about it from us. badger

Interesting, I didn't expect that in a quadrillion years, all Will has to do now is sell the Chief minifig without the overmolded Needler...;)

Very, very nice! I love it, and when i comes out, i will buy it for all of my friends whoi like lego and halo. One thing, though: the needler is an alien weapon. Still, the needler is the coolest gun i have seen, so maybe...an arbitor?

milkycooky wrote:when i comes out, i will buy it for all of my friends whoi like lego and halo Unfortunately, this figure will likely never be available on the BA site. The BA Needle Gun, however, that's a different story . . . . . . ;) milkycooky wrote:One thing, though: the needler is an alien weapon. Still, the needler is the coolest gun i have seen, so maybe...an arbitor? Given his body shape, an Arbitor made from modding a minifig really wouldn't work. There are a few brick-built versions out there that are pretty nice, but that's something more for you to try and build yourself. Try Brickshelf, MOCpages, and the Flickr for good reference pictures of what other builders have done. badger

I guess Will finally worked out how to Mold it as one piece Huh? I remember seeing one on someone's Flickr somewhere...

Xenomorph wrote:I guess Will finally worked out how to Mold it as one piece Huh? While there have been some slight changed to the Needle Gun design to allow it to be more easily removed from the mold, the final mold of the item actually hasn't changed much at all. With the overmolding process, the final cavity for the item is actually the entire item itself; the overmolding occurs when Will places bits of the design that have already been injected into the full cavity. Keep in mind, though, as a "one piece" (technically, all the pieces were fused together by the injection process) item, the Needle Gun will have to be a solid color. However, talking to folks at BrickCon as well as discussions online have shown the folks would be just as happy with a solid colored Needle Gun. This is Will's currently plan, although I do stress it's still in the planning stage. Will's very, very busy right now catching up on orders as well as getting several other plans going. All I can say is that while '08 was big for BrickArms, '09 is going to be even bigger! ;) badger

I would be fine with a one colour needler, you can always paint it. I can't wait to see the '09 BA lineup!

It's not being sold because of the needler's cost, right? So why don't you just cut out the needler and sell it with other Halo weaponry? It may disappoint some people, but the Master Chief alone is good enough for most people. I know I would buy it, needler or no needler.

the_game_is_on wrote:It's not being sold because of the needler's cost, right? No, it's more an issue related to the costs of the parts used to construct the Chief fig, mainly the plain green Euro armor and the bronze visor. Both of those items command a relatively higher cost on the secondary market, and as such, making the Chief fig more expensive to construct in bulk than other BA custom figs. The Needle Gun itself isn't more expensive to produce than other home-produced accessories. What is problematic about it is the overmolding process Will used to produce the item with multi-colored details. However, if Will were to produce the Needle Gun as a solid colored item, it would be as easily produced (although getting those suckers out of a mold can be tricky!) as other items Will injects at home. The Chief minifig was conceived as more of a fun way to introduce the BrickArms Needle Gun. However, as BrickCon showed, fans are very interested in just the Needle Gun alone, even as a solid colored item. Once that's available, you can easily assemble your own Chief fig using the same TLG parts Will used and your BrickArms accessories of choice. badger
