The production version may either omit the stock, or I'll beef it up before cutting the mold. If we are allowed to give our opinion on this, I would vote for merely beefing up the stock, as without it, the gun looks slightly unbalanced. If we are not allowed to share our opinions, I have just embarassed myself :)

I think beefing it up would help. I think it is fine as is, I have battles not cage matches. But some of the younger and less gentle (sorry if I offended anyone) might break these. I have not come close to breaking mine, but if I accidenly stepped on it that would be bad. Beefing it up is a good idea because this gun would look VERY unblanced without a stock. With the issue of the fragile stock, here's something I tried as a test for design aesthetic: I glued a bipod leg to a stock-less Spy Carbine I personally feel a thicker stock actually improves the design. It makes for a more balanced, not to mention sturdy weapon. Naturally any final design Will develops will be much more polished, but as a proof-of-concept, I think this quick-and-dirty MOC proves a more hardy stock does nothing but improve the overall design. Another fun test: removing both the stock and most of the extended barrel of the weapon to make a blaster-type accessory While I do prefer the weapon with the added goodies, this stripped down version is quite attractive as well! badger

I agree that the stock should be beefed up, because I'm pretty sure that if I pushed down on the stock I could break it of. (Not that I have any intention of breaking my one Spy Carbine.) Wow badger! The Carbine looks excellent with the bipod stock!

The longer, thick stock does make for a more balanced weapon, and I like how the butt (or whatever the thing on the end is called) is at an angle now. Nice work, badger, I think it's cool.

Cookie Brick wrote:Will, will you ever sell the pistol bond is holding? There are currently plans to take the Spy Carbine into full production. However, the design is likely to change somewhat, as many have had issues with the stock breaking-off. As Will prides himself on the ability of his accessories to stand up to reasonable levels of play, the final version is likely to have a thicker stock (as mocked-up by myself above). badger

Wow, this lego Spy Bond looks absolutely amazing! I really like the PPK with the silencer, scope, and stock attachments and the great name you gave it "Spy Carbine". Also the face of Spy Bond looks nice and like sort of rugged like Bond is, so great work, and I wish for more exceedingly amazing work in the future!
Great Job.

Very cool! Is the spy carbine just a silenced ppk whith a scope and wire stock? Because at first glance that is what I thought it looked like. -Lns

lego navy seal wrote:Is the spy carbine just a silenced ppk whith a scope and wire stock? No, the body of the Spy Carbine is an entirely new design. It is similar to the PPK, but utlimately, it is a new design. badger
