Looking at the MK48 and M60, I think that the MK would be a good stand-in for the M60. Here's a picture of the MK48, and here's a pic of the M60. They probably would look about the same at minifig scale.

Cheers!

They do not look the same. That pic you found of the M60 is a modernized version of the M60 (if that even is an M60 at all). They really do look different.

It is an M60. However, I still think they resemble each other close enough for the MK48 to act as stand-in.

Eh? The MK48 is just as modern as that version of the M60. In fact, the M60 is a tad older. Drop the foreward vertical grip and they actually do look fairly similar. Do they have differences? Sure. All firearms have at least some differences, however minor. Differences that could be translated to minifig scale? -Possibly-. But could the MK48 still be a good stand-in? Sure. They look very much alike.

That said, I would still prefer a true M60 for Rambo IF the minifig in question was based on his appearance at the end of First Blood. If it were a fig based on his appearance in First Blood: Part II or Rambo III, however, then I would say the AK-47, combat knife, and/or compound bow would be far more accurate choices.

I'd like to see a Rambo fig made corresponding to his appearance at the end of First Blood.

What I ment is that M60 is too modern for Rambo. I would much rather see him with the classic `Nam era M60 if it was made.

Yea, he is very similar to the Terminator in this regard. During the course of all the movies, he can be seen using a very wide range of weapons, but I think a LMG is his trademark weapon, so to speak, so he should have one of those.

Most of imagery most associated with John Rambo features either a combat blade or the Vietnam-era M60.

In regards to a fig inspired by this character, I'd say a medium machine gun and a combat knife would be the most representative weapons to capture the spirit of Rambo.

I am not very knowledgeable about the distictions among machine guns, so when I say "LMG", I mean any machine gun that can be carried by a person. Sorry if I cause any confusion.

Yeah, that would work. It would be really cool!

I <3 Bricklink's catalog:

That might work actually, but as a new piece with limited availability and a relatively higher price per piece, it's not an accessory Will could obtain in great enough numbers or economically to support full production of a minifig using that hair piece.

Pity . . . that hair would have been almost perfect.

I'm thinking Rambo as Will depicts him in the pic on the MK48 page on brickarms.com but also with the new KA BAR.

I'm actually not too big a fan of that hair. However, I've experimented with a couple different kinds of hair and I think that this one would probably work.

I personally feel that the best hairpiece for Rambo would be Arealight's Mullet:

Of course, the nature of this item would limit its use to MOCs, rather than production BrickArms minifigures.

Since the Ka-Bar will eventually be mass produced, he could have it and an AK47. And as suggested earlier, his head could be the Digger head from Dino Attack, his torso would be black, he'd have either the Harry Potter hair or the Black long hair, and his arms and hands could be yellow while his legs would be black.

I love M21's.

I'm not joking. I love them.
