I was thinking maybe there could be Rambo, as like a holiday special item, or something. I think that would be hilarious.

[MOD - I'll admit most should know what John Rambo looks like, but it's always nice to provide a reference picture regardless of how well known the weapon/individual. Rambo has had a few different looks over his film series - did you have any particular one in mind? - badger]

His weapon could be an AK-47!

I was thinking any weapon from after the world war era would work.

Ok, so we're talking Rambo: First Blood Part II era. That's certainly the most famous depiction of the John Rambo character and would probably make for a great custom minifig. You have to give the man credit for single-handedly re-fighting the Vietman conflict and winning.

Still, I'll always be partial to the slightly-psychotic drifter Rambo of First Blood if only for my burning hatred of Brian Dennehy and David Caruso.

If you're talking Rambo: First Blood Part II Rambo, there's no way the figure would work without the M60 (as seen in the reference picture you provided). Since Brickarms doesn't currently offer this weapon nor has there been any hint on Will's part that one might be coming, I'd say we're unlikely to see a Brickarms Rambo fig anytime soon.

Don't loose heart! The "Rambo fig" idea is a great one, and it's only that Will has yet to hint or announce that an M60 will become a part of the Brickarms line-up in the near future that keeps me from giving it my whole-hearted support. If and when (again, an M60 is not currently part of any Brickarms plans, including those for Mold 3) Will does offer an M60, I'd say the time would be ripe for a Rambo fig.

"You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In Vietnam his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well Rambo was the best."

Now THAT'S the spirit of a Brickarms minifig! . . . except the "billy goat" thing. I'll stick to dim sum, thanks.

Been awhile since you watched those flicks, huh Badg? Hate to say it, but you're slightly mistaken here. John Rambo's most famous use of the M60 was actually in the first film, at the end when he went on a rampage through that town. In the second movie, he grabbed the M60 off the helicopter, but only used it for a minute or two. Throughout the rest of the movie he used his knife, a compound bow, and an assortment of assault rifles taken from his various victims.

Strangely, the M60 is actually probably MOST famous as his weapon because all of his toys back in the '80s came with one, and it was a featured weapon in the short-lived Rambo cartoon.

If I were to build a Rambo wishlist, I'd say the accessories most fitting would go as such:

First Blood Rambo: Combat knife, M60
First Blood II Rambo and Rambo III Rambo: Combat knife, AK-47, compound bow

Then of course there's always the upcoming "John Rambo" movie, which will be the fourth installment of the popular machismo flicks. Not sure what his weapon(s) of choice will be. Since it's more modern, we may seem some new stuff. But I bet his signature combat knife will be there.

All that being said, I'd love a Rambo minifig. The problem is two-fold.

1.) You can not have Rambo without the combat knife. That combat knife is as much a part of Rambo as well-defined muscles and a headband.

2.) There is currently no LEGO hairpiece, or even clone-brand hairpiece, which looks anything like Rambo's hair. In the end, any Rambo minifig would likely look simply like a guy with guns than Rambo. The hair is part of the character.

Since I've always wanted a Rambo minifig or two, this is an issue I've considered heavily. As yet, I have not come up with any decent options for making that hairpiece, besides outright sculpting one with Apoxie.

i was thinking that perhaps the Black hairpiece most notably from the Harry Potter sets would work?

Yep, I was definitely mistaken on this one. Like you guessed, it's been awhile since I've actually sat down and watched any of the films start to end (come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen Part III all the way through, although I'm not sure if that's a bad thing or not), and I was basing my "Part II = M60" on the cover art of VHS tape I so vividly rememer from my days as a video store clerk and a few other press materials for that film, nearly all of which feature the M60 or an RPG prominently.

I do remember that compound bow now, though. Ah, the joys of explosive arrows!

You mean this hairpiece? I can see why you suggested it (black, slightly tusseled), but it's overall appearance is more "moppet" than "over-moussed mullet". Remember, you want to fight a war, you must become war . . . and keep aware current trends in hairstyling.

Rambo wouldnt be a very hard figure to make. You need your basic minfig body, perhaps some custom chest decals (shows muscles) and if your up to the challange, Maybe some custom leg designs too? The only chalanging thing would be a custom hairstyle. Still a rambo minifig sounds like a fun creation to make.

His face would be digger, the dino team guy from lego. i could'nt really get the best link, click the link to the left, and click meet the team and go down about 1 of the humans, that guy's head.

[MOD - First off, the best sources of reference pictures of TLC parts are the Bricklink reference catalog or Peeron. Second, Sgt. Johnson already suggested that particular minifig head for a Rambo minifig a few posts back. - badger]

I'd like to see a Rambo. Although Brickarms has no M-60, maybe the MK48 would work?

I agree with Damien that Rambo needs a combat knife. Unfortunately, BA doesn't have one . . . oh, well . . .

I also think I agree about the hair. It needs to look something like the pic provided. I tried with this hairpiece and it actually looked pretty good. Yes, I'm aware that it's a woman's hair.

Hmm... I'd like a Rambo minifig!

If you look in the Mk48 page on BrickArms.com, Will has made a Rambo fig... And that Harry Potter hairpiece actually looks pretty good! (But I'd suggest a different Torso)

I'm quite keen on this. I think the MK48 would work. Until of course, if ever that is, Will makes the M60.
